I have a personal injury lawsuit from an accident that happened when I was a minor living in the United States. Settlement talks have occured, but there is a subrogate claim from my father's insurance company. The lawsuit was started when I was a minor by my parents who are no longer affiliated with the case now that i am an adult. Also I am now living in Canada.

My question is:
Is this a valid subrogate claim? Will they have jurisdiction or ability to follow-through and sue me if I refuse to pay them a portion of my out of court settlement?

Thanks Alot for your time taken to read this. Any insight at all would be helpful.
