Common Law Relationships in CANADA

Common Law Relationships in CANADA

Postby F4R3W311 » Tue Dec 02, 2008 5:34 pm

Just want to discuss some of the issues with "common law" relationships and the interests of each person in the relationship.

I would just like to know if it is possible for a person who is not the biological parent to have to pay child support (not adoption in this case)? Just to give more detail, I am in a relationship with someone who already has children. The biological father still pays child support. If our relationship comes to an end, could I be liable for child support?

By the end of the relation you would not be liable for child support.
