I am a grandmother in wisconsin wanting guardianship of my minor grandaughter who lives in florida. This girls mother has a history of drug abuse and does not live with her. She was living with her father and step mother until the step mother started abusing her and again drugs came into the picture with these so called adults. Brook is now living with the sister of the step mother in Ocala who does treat the good, but I want her living with us in Wisconsin. She needs the stability and assurance that she cant get from there. How can I obtain gaurdianship? I need to be able to enroll her in school if she comes to live here.I need to be able to attach her on my health insurance, etc, etc. Please someone help me with this?

hey i live in the state of texas and am currently hoping i am able to move out and move in with my brother (22) or my cousin who is 30.I am 17 years old. The reason i want to move out is b/c ever since my mother had her nervous breakdown things have been so hectic. My mom day to ady mentally abuses about the craziest things any one could ever think of. Not only am i mentally abused but my mom has also physically abused me about 3 or 4 times but i never reported it. No matter what my mother does she seems to be so good about convincing other people she didn't do a thing. So if i tried to leave i don't feel like getting arrested and i cant prove my mom mentally abuses me and i have no money to get an attorney sso i think my mom will convince the officials i am lying about everything. Not only this but i don't want the courts to make me move to my fathers in mississippi b/c my life is in texas and i plan to go to college here. My mother at the current moment doesnt have a home and does drugs, if i go to court though she might do something vindictive and i would have to live with her till a court date. She is very controlling and tries to control every aspect of my life. I really don't know what i can do and i would like help please.

Hello. I am curious as to how I can go about giving my brother temporary gaurdianship of my minor daughter. I live in Kansas, so does he, just in a different city. She will be living with him for an indeterminate amount of time, and going to school in his area. I need to know how to go about making it so that he can enroll her in school there and handle medical issues while she is with him. If someone could help me understand how to do this, I would really appreciate it! Thank you very much

I have been fighting the system since 2001. I have had a few lawyers but they did nothing. This is what has happened, and continues to happen. I had sole custody of my son and daughter after my divorce up until Jan. of 2001. My ex was in prison for 2.5 years for killing someone d.u.i., leaving the scene, and hiding his vehicle from police.
One day in Jan. of 2001 I get served papers. My ex-mother-in-law had my children that day. So she planned this whole act out. I went to go pick up my children and I saw a bunch of police around the house, so I called as well. I told the police I had sole custody, and they said they could not do anything, they let me see my children, but would not let me take them home. They said I would have to go down to the C.P.S. office, because it was out of their hands. At that time I had no idea who they were. My ex-mother-in-law stated false allegations on her report and c.p.s. went along with it without even investigating or talking to me. There never was any proof, just hearsay. To this day she still get's away with all her lies because she knows someone who works for c.p.s. plus the courts, and not to mention my ex's family is all mormon, and I live in Mesa, Az. You can figure the rest out. Anyway, I was never aloud my side of the story, and the mesa courts, won't allow my kids to talk, even though this is what they want. They are both teenagers, my son is living with an alcoholic, and abuser, alienator, and I never get to see nor talk to my son who is in New York. I miss him more than words can say, and I know he feels the same. My daughter who my ex also has custody but he abandoned her here in Az. so I tried to file an emergency custody form, and it was denied. Once again the ex-mother-in-law. sicced c.p.s. on me again, but this time I was wise to their system and I ended up beating them in court. This is the only judge that could see right through them. But he was a juvenile judge , and it has to go through family court, I got screwed again. The only reason my ex- wants the custody is for the money, the reason his mother gave false allegations is she thought she could have a better realtionship with her son who is 40. They are not close, in fact he hated his mother, and it's too late to make up for lost time, but he pretends as long as it benefits him. He is a very selfish person, not thinking of the kids , just himself. My ex-mother-in-law has always been jealous of the fact my kids and I are so close no matter what she does. I really need a special lawyer to help me out. My case is considered high risk, and I need a very educated attorney that can see right through them in all of their lies, considering I have documentation for alot of it. As long as I stay in the Mesa courts I will never win. It's all about the money, and who you know, and that's a fact, at least here in Az. it is. If you are not mormon in mesa, watch out. There is so much more to the scenario, and I could write an entire book,. Please I am desperate, I can't let them get away with his anymore.

Hi, Need urgent help! My husband passed away in a tragic auto accident about 6 yrs ago and I was named conservator for my children in a wrongful death suit. My children are now 22,20 and 18 and I got a subpeona to go to court because I never released conservatorship when they were 18, which I thought their lawyer was to do. I have had two surgerys in the years of 05 and 06 and apparently she sent me notice at that time that she would no longer be their attorney and I was to do this on my own, howver I was in a wheelchair at the time and in great pain for the surgerys and so it never got done. I got some forms to fill out but do not understand anything about them and I no longer live in that county, which is 3 hours away, and no lawyer here will help me understand these forms. Please let me know what to do, I have to have this done in the next week in a half, before the 21st of feb, or according to the subpeona they will issue a warrent for my arrest. My children are receiving their money monthly, checks made out to them, on a structured settlement. There are no restricted funds except for their payments and so I dont know why I have to do this. I dont have access to their money.

We live in Florida. We adopted our son at age 12 and he is now 17. We have had all kinds of therapy, counceling, boarding school, and have done whatever necessary to give him a productive, positive life.
Since being with girlfriends, he has become beligerent, foul mouth, has no respect for anyone, sneaks out and runs away, because as he says we are to strict. He has run away twice and we have done everything legally and his girlfriends parents have allowed him to live with them, even tho they are sexually active. Again we followed proper steps and he came home to tell us he is not returning to this house. We want to do everything legally, but how can you force him to come home and work out the problems, with counselling for all of us, if he refuses to do so?
Can a parent divorce their child? We will not be held accountable for any thing he does, while living outside of home.
Can someone help us? We have depleted our retirement monies on this boy and he is so ungrateful and defiant.

My husband and i were engaged to be married. I had two other children from a previous marriage and we were in the process of having my finance legally adoption them. We became prgenant and were very excited. Towards my last tri-mester i became very sick and manic depressive. I called off the wedding and moved out of are apartment into my parents help. My family and others told me that i was too sick and couldnt handle to raise another child. They pushed me into placing my baby boy for adoption. I kept telling eveyone one i didnt want to, this was inbetween all the hopstial visits. I was so depressed i tried taking my life twice. finally my sone was born on January 5, 2006. I wanted to keep him but everyone told me i couldnt even take care of the two i had and that maybe one of my kidneys would have to me replaced and i would just be depriving my son of a good home. They told me during this whole time not to say a word to the father. After i signed rights over a few days later i begin to feel emotionally and pychially better. I couldnt beleive what i had done. I called up the father. Since than we have gotton married and have tired to get our son back. What i was wondering is, in utah if the father isnt a u.s. citizen do they have to have his consent to sign over rights? Help us get our son back. We are not poor teenagers i am 26 and my husband is 34 and we are finacaily secure. Help us get our baby back.
