There is a considerable difference between the loyalty and confidence extended
to a true talent agent sometimes refered to as manager and that of a
booking agent who is merely a headhunter and yet a casual observer cannot
distinguish between the two as nearly all of these porfessionals call
thermselves Talent Agents.
This distinction could be useful in my ability to track down and sue an
entertainer who is nearly impossible to locate and serve with a supeonas. It
goes without saying that these people do nearly all of their business and
public interaction while accompanied by some form of security or friend who
would inherently try to foil any attempt at serving the entertainer. Thus,
since court procedings demand service directlly to the party being sued, what
alternatives methods are commonly used to serve a cunning gypsylike
entertainer who is guilty as all hell and knows it?
My questions are ----
1 Is the agent recognized as a representative of the entertianer in such matters?
Cant the agent be served and simply forced to act as a courier for the
entertainer.Talent agents, afterall , handle all the negociations and work
closely with the entertainer in many strategic career issues and so they
already have their clients confidentiality and contact information.
2 Can an agent be required to disclose the actual location of the entertainer
to me, thus allowing a courier service to make the simple transaction in whatever
state they are in?
