Child Custody in Australia....Can someone help me ???

Hi my ex has custody of our children as at the time he had a job plus he has the house , but now i would like to re-apply for my children to live with me. In court my ex said that if ever the children wanted to come live with me they could he wouldn't stop them Ha!! what a joke. My son is 9 he says he wishes to live with me to his Dad but his Dad hurts him an yells at him when he says this.My daughter is 13 but she won't leave her brother there by him self.Even though my ex has full custody isn't there some way i can keep my children after a weekend visit an not hand them back without getting arrested, by the grounds that my children are being abused mentally + physically by there father an his girlfriend as i don't want my kids being the brunt of their cruelity anymore isn't it morally within my power to do this with my children. Thanxs for reading hope you can help me
